Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Casmora Studio is a design studio. Design that only works for some people is design that has not finished its job. We want this website, and the work we produce for clients, to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, magnify the screen, or prefer reduced motion. This statement explains what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

1. Our Commitment

We treat accessibility as part of the craft rather than a box to tick at the end. It shapes how we choose type sizes, how much contrast we put between text and background, how we order content in the markup, and how we handle motion. We do not always get it right, and we would rather hear about a problem than assume there is not one.

2. Standard We Work Toward

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, at conformance level AA. These guidelines are the most widely recognized international standard for making web content more accessible, and they are organized around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

3. Conformance Status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that most of the content meets the standard, but some parts may not yet do so. We are working through the gaps, and this statement will be updated as that work progresses.

4. Measures We Have Taken

  • Semantic structure. Pages use meaningful headings, landmarks, and lists so that assistive technology can convey the structure of the content rather than a flat wall of text.
  • Keyboard access. Navigation, buttons, the enquiry form, and the dialog that contains it can be operated without a mouse, and the dialog can be closed with the Escape key.
  • Visible focus. Interactive elements show a clear focus indicator so that keyboard users can always see where they are on the page.
  • Contrast. Text is placed on a darkened layer above the background image rather than directly on it, so that contrast stays legible across the whole page.
  • Reduced motion. Where a person's system preference asks for reduced motion, animations and smooth scrolling are disabled.
  • Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry text alternatives, and decorative graphics are marked so that screen readers can skip them.
  • Responsive layout. Content reflows down to small screens and remains usable when the page is magnified.
  • Form labels. Every field in the enquiry form has a visible, programmatically associated label, and errors are indicated in more than color alone.

5. Known Limitations

We would rather be candid about the areas that still need work than claim a level of conformance we have not reached:

  • Background imagery. The site uses a strong photographic background. We darken it behind text to protect contrast, but on some screens and in some lighting conditions the effect may still be visually busy.
  • Third-party components. Parts of the storefront are provided by the hosting platform and by third-party applications. We do not control their markup, and their accessibility may vary.
  • Documents. Any file we publish for download, such as a portfolio in PDF form, may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible version of any document, ask us and we will provide one.
  • Legacy assistive technology. We test against current browsers and current screen readers. Very old combinations may behave unpredictably.

6. Compatibility

This website is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, in combination with the screen readers and magnification tools commonly used on those platforms. It may not work reliably with browsers older than three major versions, or with assistive technology that no longer receives updates.

7. Technical Specifications

Accessibility on this site relies on the following technologies working together in your browser: HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript. Where JavaScript is unavailable, the core content of every page remains readable, although interactive elements such as the enquiry dialog will not function.

8. How We Assess Accessibility

We review this site using a combination of methods: manual keyboard testing, checking color contrast values against the WCAG thresholds, reviewing the heading and landmark structure, and testing with screen reader software. We repeat this review whenever we make a significant change to the site, and at least once a year.

9. Feedback

If you encounter a barrier on this website, we want to know. Tell us what page you were on, what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and what browser or assistive technology you were using. That detail makes it much faster for us to reproduce and fix the problem.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within three business days and to give you a substantive response, including a fix or a timeline for one, within ten business days. If the fix will take longer, we will tell you why and offer an alternative way to get what you need in the meantime.

10. Alternative Ways to Reach Us

If any part of this website prevents you from contacting us, you do not need to use the form. The email address, postal address, and telephone number at the end of this page are always available, and we are happy to receive an enquiry by whichever of those channels works best for you.

11. Accessibility in the Work We Produce

Accessibility is also something we can build into the design work we deliver for you, including contrast-checked color palettes, legible type scales, and layouts that hold up at larger text sizes. If accessibility matters for your project, raise it during the discovery call and we will scope it explicitly. Please note that a formal accessibility audit is a separate service and is included only when the proposal says so.

12. Changes to This Statement

We review this statement whenever the site changes materially, and at least once a year. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
